Besides just plain liking elephants, I really enjoy the rich blacks and line quality in this print that creates the rugged texture of this elephant. Beautiful kind eye too.

Gosh, I don't think it's overworked! It looks fantastic. I love the moody feel of the composition. Ventriloquist dolls, like clowns, sort of creep me out, so this really captures that scary aspect of the subject. Nice print! Wish I'd been in on that exchange :)

this one was especially great at the show, and it does have a victorian quality to it for sure. there is this clothing label I love done by two artists, called Libertine, that combines reworks vintage clothing using a lot of victorian style influences/imagery, and this reminds me of a graphic they might use! ps peonies are the best, they smell RIDICULOUS.
